Supporting new teams

Don't worry! Our aim with the grant program is to ensure the recipients get much more than just a physical product. We know that when the kit is combined with an initial training session and ongoing support there is a much higher level of engagement from all involved. In addition, the kit gets used in a wider range of applications, from additional teams to classroom engagement.

Initial training

But, we'll ease you in gently. There are over 18,000 VEX Robotics Competition and VEX IQ Challenge teams around the world! The Robotics Education and Competition Foundation, which organises and coordinates the challenges, have a wealth of documents online to support teams getting started on their journey.

However, we understand that it can be daunting, so all grant recipients will receive a virtual training session from VEX Robotics. This will include an introduction to the platform you are using, getting started with the kits, managing the use in the classroom, preparing for competition and an overview of the programming software. From there, you're ready to get started with the team!

Ongoing support

But the support won't stop there. While the online support should always be the first port of call, you will have a direct line to the technical and logistical support offered by VEX Robotics as well. At the end of a phone, or email, they will be able to answer any questions you have about the use of the kit or software.

Teams in your area

All team registration for VEX Robotics events is through the Robot Events website - the 'Map Search' function allows you to look around your location to see what events and teams are close by. The VEX Robotics community is very open and schools will often work with each other during the season for mutual gain. Check out this link for the Map Search.
